Philippine Eagles are thrilled to return to action at the 2025 Asian Championships, competing in Division 2.
Philippine Australian Football League (PAFL) President Matt Jones said the Eagles’ return marks a significant milestone for the club.
‘We have a record 15 Filipino nationals joining the men’s squad this year, proudly taking the field in place of the expat-heavy lineups of previous years.’
‘While we may lack experience, our players bring unmatched enthusiasm, determination and a burning desire to improve and represent the Philippines with pride.’

Matt said the Eagles are also contributing players to the Division 2 Women’s Barbarians team, including the first-ever Filipina national women’s player.
‘This is an exciting step forward for women’s footy in the Philippines, as we set our sights on fielding a full women’s team at the 2026 Championships.’
‘A huge thank you goes out to AFL Asia and the Thailand Tigers for their hard work in organising and hosting what promises to be a fantastic event.’
The Eagles are also deeply grateful to sponsors Handlebar and Grill, Electrodry, Mode Logistics, Outposter and Boutique Outsource Solutions — as well as the many individuals who have donated directly or through GoFundMe.
Their support is instrumental in helping to grow Australian football in the Philippines and giving local players opportunities they might not otherwise have.
Fly high Eagles!
