Host Thailand Tigers ready to roar at AC15!
Host country – the Thailand Tigers – enter the 2015 Asian Champs full of confidence after a big win at home over current Asian Champs title-holders Singapore, and a monumental back-to-back triumph in the 2015 Indochina Cup in Laos during this year. Complementing the on-field success, the Tigers have continued to grow the game in Thailand with more Auskickers coming through into senior ranks, and the development of young Somali refugees in our domestic competition.
Coach/Captain’s thoughts:
“The playing group has changed this year, with more younger players coming up through the Auskick program and the Somali boys coming to senior trainings. They’ve added a lot of speed and skill, and the older blokes have done a great job by showing more leadership, and instilling in them the way we want to play as a club. It’s a great group to be a part of, and one that I’m very proud to lead.” Tim ‘Sugar’ Cole, Thailand Tigers Captain
President’s thoughts:
“The Thailand Tigers are a passionate and committed group who aim for on-field success while helping to grow and develop Australian Rules Football throughout the region. The club is run solely by volunteers who devote their time and effort so that the players have the opportunity to play the game they love. A lot of energy and organisation has gone into hosting this years Asian Champs, and we are hoping that AC15 is the biggest and best yet.” Jarrod ‘Jazza’ Roberts, Thailand Tigers President
