AFL Asia has today launched its Strategic Plan for 2021-2025, with a bold vision to become the AFL’s leading international growth region.

The Strategic Plan, which will be made available online, includes ambitious participation targets and the establishment of processes and procedures aimed at aligning all of our Clubs and countries to work together, synergize, and achieve the common goal of progressing the game and sharing its heritage and possibilities across Asia. This works in tandem with AFL Asia’s purpose and vision statements.

The plan is centered around six pillars:

  1. Participation Programs
  2. Community Football
  3. Organization & People
  4. Engagement
  5. Commercial
  6. Governance

Asia Development Manager Simon Highfield said the Strategic Plan is ultimately about uniting, inspiring and enabling individuals and communities across Asia to become more involved in Australian football.

“It’s clear, from our participation growth across the past few years, that the game in Asia is in great shape. This five-year plan is designed to ensure that we build on this positive momentum and that we put key initiatives in place that will sustain the game’s growth into the future”.

The plan was developed through a consultative process with individuals and groups across the region to ensure the issues impacting on football across Asia were captured, represented and addressed.
