AFL India have commenced their ‘ARFAI Leadership Development Program’ in the eastern states of India, which has been funded by AFL Asia’s Development Grant Program (DGP) and proudly supported by SEED Kolkata NGO.

AFL India presented a thorough and detailed application for funding through the DGP program, and identified some opportunities to develop key, talented leaders to assist in coaching, umpiring and administering the Indikick program. The hope is for these leaders to grow the game to new heights in the region, by delivering Indikick in schools and communities, as well as further develop senior and junior community football competitions.

These programs then lead into their talent pathways, which see the participating regions play at regional and national level, with the hope of representing India at future international events.

Representatives from the Bengal Tigers, Jharkhand Crows and Odisha Swans are undertaking the online program, which will see a new generation of football leaders further enhance the game across the country.

Alongside coaching and umpiring education, SEED Kolkata NGP will deliver sports management and administration courses to the participants, all while underpinning the course on developing leaders in the community.
