History will be created tomorrow as the Cambodian Eagles and Cambodian Apsaras launch Round 1 of their domestic competition with the newly-formed Nagas and Garudas facing off in men’s and women’s matches.

Tomorrow’s season opening round is the first of an 11-round season in what promises to create a fierce but friendly rivalry and an opportunity for the active and proud one-club to build on their local development successes and maintain optimal motivation for their players.

For those looking to sharpen up their Asian culture and history knowledge, Nagas (snake) represent prosperity and the spirit of the land and water of the Khmer, whilst a Garuda (half bird, half man) is a creature of mythology that represents birth and heaven, and is the enemy of all snakes.
