On Grand Final Eve, the then Australia Network posted a story on the Jakarta Bintangs. It posted:
“The Jakarta Bintangs Football Club team in Indonesia has an almost equal membership of Aussie expats and Indonesian locals. The competition is being led by an enthusiastic Australian who now calls Jakarta home, and is keen to spread the AFL spirit in Asia.”
