Legendary Bali Geckos and Indonesian Volcanoes Coach Rick Olarenshaw joined during this outstanding podcast.

Rick’s successful AFL career saw him play in the Essendon Football Club’s 1993 Baby Bombers Premiership and throughout his 11-year stint at the highest level he played 83 AFL games for the Essendon Football Club, Collingwood Football Club and North Melbourne Football Club (known as the Kangaroos at that time).

Rick is among AFL Asia royalty, having led the Bali Geckos as Player-Coach to back to back Division 2 Asian Champs success in 2016-17 and the Indonesian Volcanoes to Division 1 glory in 2018.

Ola’s commitment to Local Development within the Asian region has been prominent and we were delighted when he took the reigns as Coach of the AFL Asia Lions, who played the Team China AFL Dragons in the curtain closer clash to the Port Adelaide Football Club vs. St Kilda Football Club in Shanghai, China back in 2019.

This is a must-watch podcast and we are very grateful and appreciative that Rick was so generous with his time. Enjoy watching episode 33 and keep an eye out for future editions of AFL Asia’s Official Podcast – How good is footy in Asia!
