(Registrations Close 13 April – we recommend at least a month lead time to secure visas)
Thanks to the AFL, this year we are very fortunate to be able to utilise the magnificent facilities and surface of Shanghai’s historic Jiangwan Stadium – which will be renamed Adelaide Arena for this massive weekend of football in Shanghai.
The tournament will be run along AFLX rules (7-a-side), played across two fields from around 9.30am to 3pm. We are seeking nominations for Open and Masters 35+ divisions (a final decision on a separate Masters Division will be made following the closing date).
There will also be an opportunity for all Auskickers to have a kick on the Jiangwan Stadium turf around Midday (TBC).
We are now looking for umpires, goal umpires and volunteers to help us out at the Shanghai Cup and are giving AFL Asia member clubs first opportunity to fill these spots. All volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to the AFL match on the Sunday with Lv1 accredited umpires also receiving $25 per game they umpire. Please email grant.keys@afl-asia.com if you or anyone in your club is coming along to Shanghai and can help out on the day.
The big AFL game between the Port Adelaide and the Gold Coast Suns will take place the day before on Saturday 19th Match at Jiangwan Stadium, with exciting news for local player development efforts in Asia that the Team China vs combined AFL Asia Lions local player game will once again be played directly following the AFL game.
All registered teams will be able to reserve tickets for the AFL match through the registration process.
