Below is a welcome message from the President of Philippine Australian Football League, Peter Hammon.
On behalf of the Philippine Australian Football League Management, members and friends, we would like to invite you to be part of the 2014 Australian Rules Football Asian Championships.
We are honoured to be the host of this great event which will be held in Clark, Philippines.
The Philippine AFL has grown enormously over the last three years. Reaching the finals of the Asian Championships last year being narrowly beaten by the Hong Kong Dragons, was a milestone for the Philippine AFL and the development of the code in this country. Hosting the Asian Championships is a further step forward in the development of AFL in the Philippines and we’re honoured to have this opportunity.
The Philippines is a great place to live and a unique destination for a holiday.
Wherever you choose to go in the Philippines, it’s the Filipinos that will make your holiday unforgettable. Lonely Planet calls us, ‘among the most ebullient and easy going people anywhere’ making it the perfect place for any type of event.
Clark is a great location to stage AFL Asia’s premier event. Located an hour north of Manila, this town has great resources available for holding such an event. Great food, entertainment as well as a supportive Australian community who love footy.
This prospectus is a valuable resource to help make your plan and have a safe and successful trip to the Philippines. It provides details and information regarding accommodation, tournament information and guidelines as well as your responsibilities as a competing team.
I encourage you to use this prospectus and our support via email at asianchamps@pafl.com.ph
to help answer your questions to make this the best Asian Champs in AFL Asian History.
On behalf of the PAFL, I wish you and your club all the best for in this event, and will see you in Clark.
