The ‘Cocks had a good start to the football season with victories in Laos and at home against Cambodia, however were thoroughly put in their place against Thailand on ANZAC day in Kanchanarburi. Since then, the boys have had a long Myanmar wet season with limited game time and are looking to blow the cobwebs out at the Champs this weekend. The recruiting drive has been good as we have managed to blood around 5 new players over the past few weeks who are looking to show the team what they are made of. Although not making it to the IndoChina Cup was disappointing, the club has found good social momentum leading up to the Champs through new sponsorship and a successful Grand Final function which united the Yangon Aussie Community.

From the Captain – Andrew Romanin
We are coming into this weekend with healthy numbers and a lot of new faces who are eager to prove their worth. With a mix of core experienced players and the enthusiasm of the newer guys I think we’re well placed to give Division 2 a real shake up. A bit of an unkown quantity to a lot of our group teams, but we’ll be looking to put in four quarter efforts all day long. Hopefully coming away with a couple of wins and plenty of quality team bonding.

From the President – Henry Cox
Holding the Champs in Bangkok has really helped the cause for the ‘Cocks to muster up a team and compete for the first time in history. Thailand is slowly becoming the ‘Cocks favourite touring destination with many of the players choosing Bangkok as their weekend getaway city. Adding to that, the new format with two divisions helps drive the prospect of a win or two on the weekend, further encouraging blokes to make themselves available.
