The Thailand Tigers’ partnership with the Duang Prateep Foundation and its key partners have
created a highly successful and mutually beneficial community engagement network over the
past three years.

The Duang Prateep Foundation have facilitated learning, better health and hope for
impoverished children, otherwise denied services in the port-side community of Khlong Toei in
Bangkok, Thailand for over 40 years and currently delivers over 20 programs.

Over the journey the Thailand Tigers have provided the students of Chumchonmoobanpattana
School with food, medical supplies, household resources and have delivered English lessons to
dozens of children, whilst also creating opportunities for the Khlong Toei-based youngsters to
get involved and play Aussie Rules through the Thailand Tigers Auskick Program and their senior
squad.

Recently, the Thailand Tigers established the ‘Thailand Tigers Sports & Education Scholarship’
program in conjunction with the Duang Prateep Foundation and the local Khlong Toei
community. This outstanding initiative is centered towards 10-16 year old boys and will provide
recipients with an educational pathway and an opportunity to develop a range of life-skills and
football-related skills whilst playing with the Thailand Tigers.

Featured in this promotional video are Aekkachai ‘Frankie’ Sammann and Nathaphon ‘Bon”
Bunmee, who are amongst the first recipients of the Thailand Tigers Sports & Education
Scholarships.

It’s evident to see that both of the boys are engaged and thriving as a direct result of receiving
their scholarships and will continue to blossom under the watchful eye of their mentors in Niall
Geraghty (Frankie) and David Shields (Bon).

During the initial implementation phase the Thailand Tigers are aiming to provide ten Thailand
Tigers Sports & Education Scholarships within the first 12 months and are hoping to expand on
the number of annual recipients moving into the future, provided there is further financial
investment and support from key partners and sponsors within the community.
AFL Asia is excited to see this program flourish and would like to wish the Thailand Tigers the
very best with the continuation of the program.
